Westercon Film Room The Westercon 51 film room (in the Sierra) will feature classic science fiction films, mostly presented in full screen format with digital surround sound. We've included a very special documentary, "Theremin: An Electronic Odyssey," about the creator of that oth-er-worldly sounding instrument named for him. It's an odd and fascinating bit of history that had an impact on all pop-ular music and on science fiction films. ConSume - The Westercon Con-Suite CONSUME will be running the Concept's Hospitality Suite. Our last appearence was WorldCon '96, but we are rested and ready. Consume will feature munchies, beverages, events and activities. Come visit us for some fun or just to relax. Enjoy a game of chess or a magazine, have a snack or a chat. Consume is your place to come to when the cares of the 'con weigh you down. STOP THE PRESSES - REAL CASINO NIGHT! Barona Casino has agreed to host a real Casino Night on Thursday the 2nd of July. They will provide a free buffet dinner (which is very good, with a dessert bar featuring Haägen Dasz) to everyone who attends and free transportation (via charter bus). The casino night will be four hours in length. People must pre-register for this event so we know how many busses to reserve. Remember, if you play you will be playing with (and maybe winning) real money. They do have really low stakes ($1.00 blackjack for example) however. See ya in '98. |
